IN AI's HANDS

SYNOPSIS

In a once-tranquil coastal region of Costa Rica now overwhelmed by rampant development, a young woman finds herself pressured by forces that seem beyond her control. A stranger’s simple act of kindness reignites her hope for human connection and sparks her desire to protect the natural world she loves. Seeking guidance, she teams up with an AI agent, beginning with small yet meaningful projects—like building a homemade water filter for her family—in the belief that her actions can inspire others. However, as she incorporates the AI’s advice, she slowly uncovers its inherent limitations. She discovers that a machine can only simulate empathy and may carry hidden biases. This realization prompts a crucial question: Can she trust an AI that does not feel genuine empathy to value both her well-being and the environment? Confronted by a world racing forward, she stands at a crossroads: embrace progress that may overlook the heart of human connection, or risk being left behind.
